I worry about the amount of compost thrown out in our office every day, but my job requires me to fly back and forth across the US 4 or 5 times a year. That is a lot of jet fuel. There is a bit of math I’ve been wanting to tease out, figures on how many truck and train miles biodegradable waste travels from our trash can to its eventual resting place at an out of state dump.
